About

I first learned about calligraphy when I was in third grade, swiping the broad-edge markers lying around my grandma’s house. I spent hours trying to figure out how to form letters, writing names over and over. Ever since then, I’ve been drawn to lettering.

After earning my BA at UC Berkeley, I moved to Madison, studying Italian Literature and earning my MA from the University of Wisconsin. After completing all of my PhD coursework and getting married, I returned to California in 2010. I started teaching Italian part-time at the local community college while raising my two kids; the schedule has allowed me to be present for my kids while still being part of the outside world.

I found pointed pen calligraphy in the winter of 2018, when my classes were cancelled due to low enrollment and I was left without any direction. I love the magic that happens when the nib hits the page, and I have been steadily building my client base and offerings ever since. I am known for my work ethic, quick turnaround, and my dedication to each job.

Aside from calligraphy, my family, and teaching, people who know me know that I have a few true loves in this world: reading, tv, running, podcasts, and coffee.
